International distinction for Greek firm IPYD at the Yacht & Aviation Awards 2026
IPYD, the architectural yacht design studio known for its contemporary and pioneering approach to yacht design, has received a major international distinction at the International Yacht & Aviation Awards 2026.
The awards are regarded as one of the world’s leading institutions in the field, honouring projects that stand out for their aesthetics, creativity and innovation.
The awards ceremony took place in Venice, bringing together leading representatives from the international yachting, architecture and design communities. IPYD was honoured in the Refit Design category for its innovative refit design of the superyacht SOJO, a 54-metre Benetti, which stood out for the exceptional renewal and upgrade of its spaces.
This distinction marks an important milestone for IPYD, further strengthening its position in the international yachting sector and confirming the high quality of its services in superyacht design.
Ira PetromanOLaki, founder of the architectural studio and Lead Yacht Designer, said:
“This award is a great honour for us and an important recognition of our work in superyacht design. It is especially moving to see dedication, creativity and hard work rewarded in such an honourable way.”

SOJO stood out thanks to its contemporary aesthetic, the functional restructuring of its interiors and the overall enhancement of the hospitality experience it offers. A central feature of its refit is the harmonious balance between contrasts, where classical architecture meets contemporary minimalism, creating a result that is both timeless and thoroughly modern.
