Five simple tips to make the most of autumn in Cyprus

Date:

Autumn has finally arrived, even if the calendar says it was meant to happen a month ago. Bring on the slightly cooler evenings, seasonal flavours, and a chance to reset before the busy holiday season. Here are five easy autumn tips to make the most of the season in Cyprus:

1. Embrace seasonal flavours

From pumpkin spice to cinnamon and apple, autumn is the season for comfort food. Try a new hot drink, bake something with seasonal spices, or simply enjoy a slice of apple pie. In autumn, we finally get to enjoy comforting hot foods like soups and stews, instead of living off of watermelon and halloumi.

2. Enjoy the cooler evenings

After the heat of summer, autumn nights are perfect for outdoor walks, a coffee with friends, or dinner on the balcony without the high temperatures. Dust off your trainers and get moving again — take a stroll around the neighbourhood, or head to your nearest park.

3. Refresh your home

A couple of cosy blankets, a scented candle, or even swapping summer colours for warmer tones can make your space feel inviting. Throw cushions are easy to switch out, and make a big difference to your living space.

4. Make time for yourself

As days grow shorter, it’s important to slow down. Set aside time to read, journal, or enjoy a quiet moment with a hot drink- try adding cinnamon and clove to your tea. Remember to make time to process and unwind; autumn is a busy season with few holidays, so make yourself a priority.

5. Start something new

Autumn is often seen as a season of change. Whether it’s a class, a new hobby or a fresh routine, this is the perfect time to try something different. With cooler temperatures, hiking groups start meeting again, and with the new term in full swing, it’s a great time to join a dance class or sign up at a gym offering fun programmes.

So grab a blanket, pour yourself something warm and savour the season- give our autumn tips a try, because pumpkin spice isn’t just a drink, it’s an attitude.
