Explosion in Limassol damages shop and vehicles

Early morning blast in Limassol

Extensive damage was caused to the front of a shop in Limassol after a low-power explosive device detonated early Thursday morning.

According to police, the explosion occurred around 1:30 AM at the premises owned by a 49-year-old woman.

Preliminary findings

Preliminary investigations indicate the blast was caused by a homemade explosive device placed at the shop entrance. The device contained low-power explosives.

The explosion damaged the shop’s façade and two vehicles parked in front of the premises.

The Limassol CID (Limassol CID) continues to investigate the incident.
