The Conference of Presidents of the European Parliament arrives in Cyprus on 1–2 December 2025 to lay the groundwork for Cyprus’s upcoming EU Council Presidency in the first half of 2026.
On Monday 1 December, President Nikos Christodoulides welcomes EP President Roberta Metsola at the Presidential Palace. They hold a private meeting at 17:15, followed by expanded delegation talks. A family photo, joint press conference and official dinner at Kastelliotissa Hall complete the day.
Tuesday 2 December shifts to the House of Representatives. House President Annita Demetriou meets Metsola privately at 08:40, followed by an expanded session and discussions with party leaders. At 10:35, Metsola and Christodoulides join students at Larnaca Technical School for the “Christmas in Europe 2025” event. The delegation departs at noon.
The EU Parliament Presidents Cyprus visit strengthens cooperation ahead of the 2026 Presidency.
