EP: Debate on Cyprus issue underscores need for solution

The debate set to take place on Monday evening regarding the Cyprus issue underscores the need for a solution, European Parliament (EP) Acting Spokesperson Delphine Collard, said during a press conference on Monday, in Strasbourg.

Replying to a question about the debate that will take place on Monday evening about the Cyprus issue, Collard said that the title of the debate recalls the need for a solution of the Cyprus issue, adding that the Commission will also be present in the debate. 

During the press conference, Delphine Collard and the Head of the Press Unit of the EP Directorate General for Communication, Neil Corlett, said that the main issues on the agenda of the November Plenary are violence against women, the gender pay gap, the presentation and the approval of the new College of Commissioners, the debate on the EU Budget for 2025 and the humanitarian crisis in Gaza and the West Bank. 

They further added that the results of the recent elections in Georgia, the recent cutting of cables in the Baltic Sea, the COP29 climate talks, the G20 Leaders Summit, exposure to smoking, measures to tackle high energy prices will also be discussed during the November Plenary.
