A major deal between Elon Musk and Israel is reportedly being prepared ahead of the billionaire entrepreneur’s expected visit to Israel, according to Israeli media reports.
The agreement, valued at up to $1.5 billion, is said to involve advanced mobility and satellite technology projects across the country.
Autonomous driving factory planned in Dimona
According to reports, the proposed deal between Elon Musk and Israel includes plans to establish a factory for autonomous driving technologies in the Dimona region, near Israel’s nuclear facility.
The project is described as being similar to large-scale industrial investments already operating in Israel, such as Intel’s plant in Kiryat Gat.
The facility would focus on technologies aligned with those developed by Tesla, particularly in the field of autonomous mobility.
Starlink services for transport networks
The agreement also reportedly includes a large-scale pilot programme to provide free satellite internet through Starlink. The service would be deployed across trains, highways and remote transport routes, improving connectivity in less accessible areas.
Israeli media report that the system could also support internal flights and railway infrastructure.
Visit expected to be finalised soon
The visit of Elon Musk to Israel was previously postponed due to security concerns, but reports suggest it could now take place by the end of the month.
Business daily Globes reported that preparations are underway to finalise the agreement during the visit.
According to reports, Israel is preparing for a formal reception during Musk’s visit, which would be led by Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.
The potential meeting is described as a rare protocol deviation, underlining the strategic importance of the proposed agreement.
