Elderly woman found dead after house fire in Pervolia

Date:

The Fire Service was mobilised on Thursday following a fire that broke out in a home in Pervolia, Larnaca District. The fire was spotted by neighbours, who rushed to help and made a tragic discovery.

Upon entering the residence, they found 79-year-old Filothei Mourtzis lying face-down and unconscious in the hallway.

Emergency services were immediately called to the scene. Paramedics confirmed the woman’s death upon arrival.

The fire appears to have started in the bedroom, but firefighters managed to bring it under control before it could spread to the rest of the house.

Authorities said the cause of death is still under investigation. Initial reports suggest the woman showed no signs of external injuries or burns.
