The Cyprus Electricity Authority (EAC) presses ahead with smart meter installations in households and businesses into the new year, upgrading its network for enhanced efficiency. These meters allow consumers to monitor electricity use in real time, ensure precise data logging, reduce estimates, promote energy savings, and improve service quality and grid performance.
Rollout targets completion soon across island regions.
January installation schedule
EAC announced mass smart meter deployments throughout January in these areas:
Nicosia
Strovolos, between Strovolos, Griva Digeni, Agiou Prokopiou, and Archangelos Michail Avenues.
Limassol
Along Archbishop Leontiou A’ Avenue both sides. Area between Archbishop Makariou III Avenue, Monis Machaira, Tagmatarchou Pouliou, Demosthenous Mitsi, Navarinou, Gladstonos, Agias Zonis, and Thessalonikis Streets.
Larnaca
Larnaca-Leivadia-Oroklini-Pyla coastal, both sides of Ammochostou Avenue (Dhekelia Road).
Famagusta
Paralimni, both sides of Protaras Avenue at Agia Varvara Church height. Kapparis area from Agia Triada roundabout to Konstantinou Karamanli Street.
Protaras, both sides of Protaras-Cape Greco Avenue from Protara Avenue to Simi Street height. Prophet Ilias area.
Paphos
Paphos, both sides of Tombs of the Kings Avenue, between Apostle Paulos Avenue up to Chloraka municipal limits.
Brief power cut expected
Safe replacement requires supply interruption not exceeding 20 minutes. EAC apologizes for any inconvenience.
