Justice Minister to brief Cabinet
Cyprus’ Cabinet is set to examine the Drousiotis allegations on Wednesday, following recent claims made by journalist Makarios Drousiotis.
According to the Cyprus News Agency, Justice and Public Order Minister Kostas Fytiris is expected to brief ministers on the findings of police investigations into the matter. The meeting will also address possible next steps.
Journalist submits new evidence
Drousiotis appeared once again at Police Headquarters on Tuesday, marking his second visit in recent days. He submitted a 34-page statement supported by 137 pieces of evidence in electronic form, according to his own announcement.
In a post on X, he said a copy of the statement had also been sent to the President of the Republic to ensure he is fully informed and able to take necessary decisions.
Call for independent investigators
The journalist described it as an “urgent necessity” for the Cabinet to appoint independent criminal investigators beyond suspicion.
The Drousiotis allegations have drawn increased attention in recent days, with calls growing for transparency and further scrutiny of the claims.
