The Forest Department placed a wildfire on the outskirts of Drousheia, Paphos district, under full control last night.
The blaze broke out at 18:05 in the “Nikoxylitis” area.
Firefighters achieved full control by 22:00.
Remaining crews on site
Forest Department teams stay in the area to handle possible re-ignitions. The fire started in an illegal rubbish dump inside a steep ravine and rugged terrain.
Damage report
The fire burned two decares (about 0.2 hectares) of wild vegetation.

16 Forest Department personnel with
- 4 fire engines
- 1 water tanker
- 1 bulldozer
Plus 5 Fire Service members with 1 fire engine
Authorities are investigating the cause of the fire.
