Drone use strictly banned during firefighting operations

Date:

The Civil Aviation Department has issued a strong warning to the public, stating that the use and flight of drones during firefighting operations is strictly prohibited, as it obstructs aerial firefighting efforts and endangers lives.

In an official statement, the Department stressed that any unauthorised drone activity during such operations not only disrupts the coordinated response of firefighting aircraft, but also poses significant risks to both emergency personnel and civilians.

The public is urged to respect the regulations and consult the official drone information portal for further details: www.drones.gov.cy
