Driver rescued after crash in Aglantzia

A driver had to be freed from their vehicle following a traffic collision late Thursday night on Kyreneias Avenue in Platy Aglantzia, according to the Fire Service.

In a statement shared on X by Police spokesperson Andreas Kettis, it was reported that at 11:04pm, Nicosia fire stations responded to the scene with a rescue team and vehicle after a private car crashed into the wall of a parking area and came to a stop.

Rescue equipment was used to extricate one individual, who was then handed over to an ambulance and transported to the Emergency Department of Nicosia General Hospital.

Mr. Kettis also noted that over the past 24 hours, the Fire Service responded to a total of 36 incidents- including 14 fires and 22 special service calls.
