Five individuals were arrested to assist police investigations into an incident that occurred outside a café in Larnaca on the evening of Tuesday, 6 May.
According to the police, two girls—one aged 18 and the other a minor—were reportedly arguing outside the café in Larnaca, prompting police officers to attend the scene in order to restore order.
However, the officers were unable to stop the girls from fighting, leading to their arrest.
A 19-year-old male, believed to be a friend of the two girls, attempted to break up the altercation and prevent their arrest, resulting in his own detention as well.
The three individuals were taken to Larnaca Police Directorate, and during their time there, two more people—aged 22 and 17—tried to enter the Police HQ building.
The two youths were also arrested by the police, while the underage girl was released last night.
The remaining four individuals are still in custody and are expected to be released tonight after being formally charged in writing by the police.
