Firefighting forces continue their efforts to extinguish the massive wildfire that broke out yesterday in the Limassol district.
Due to the fire, the following roads remain closed to traffic:
- Trimiklini – Laneia – Alassa
- Alassa – Lofou
- Kantu – Kyvides
- Agios Ambrosios – Vouni
Drivers wishing to travel from Limassol to Troodos can use the Palodia – Paramytha – Gerasa – Kalon Chorio – Agros route. For the return journey from Troodos to Limassol, they may use the Saittas – Agios Mamas – Apaisia – Korfi route.
Police patrols continue to be stationed in the following areas:
- Palodia junction
- Apaisia junction
- Monagri junction
- Trimiklini–Agios Mamas junction
- Kouka–Pera Pedi junction
- Pachna–Omodos junction
- Kantu – Kyvides road
- Kantu bypass junction
- Erimi–Kantu junction
- Road towards Kouris Dam (Vounaros area)
- Saittas
Citizens are urged to follow the instructions of police officers, as many areas are still considered inaccessible or dangerous due to flare-ups or fallen electricity poles on the road.
