Cyprus weather: Winds up to 5 Beufort as temperatures rise

Temperatures will reach 37°C inland today, with Cyprus weather remaining mostly clear during the morning before increased cloud cover develops locally in the afternoon.

Isolated showers cannot be ruled out, mainly over the mountains, while winds could temporarily strengthen to 5 Beaufort along the southern coast.

Temperatures are expected to rise slightly on Wednesday and Thursday, remaining above the seasonal average, before a small drop on Friday.

Winds could reach 5 Beaufort

Seasonal low pressure is affecting the region.

Today will initially be mostly clear, although locally increased cloud cover will develop during the afternoon, with isolated showers possible, mainly over the mountains.

Winds will initially be light and variable at 3 Beaufort, gradually becoming south-westerly to north-westerly, light to moderate at 3 to 4 Beaufort. Along the southern coast, winds could temporarily become strong at 5 Beaufort.

The sea will be slight.

Temperatures will rise to 37°C inland, 32°C along the western coast, around 35°C on the remaining coasts and 27°C in the higher mountains.

Clear conditions overnight

Tonight, the Cyprus weather will be mostly clear.

Winds will gradually become north-westerly to north-easterly, and south-easterly along the northern coast, remaining light at 3 Beaufort.

The sea will be calm to slight.

Temperatures will fall to around 24°C inland and along the coast, and 16°C in the higher mountains.

Temperatures to climb through Thursday

Wednesday, Thursday and Friday will initially be mostly clear, with locally increased cloud cover developing during the afternoon.

On Thursday and Friday, the clouds could bring isolated showers, mainly over the mountains.

Temperatures will gradually rise slightly on Wednesday and Thursday, taking them above the seasonal average. A small drop is expected on Friday.
