Isolated rain expected in the mountains
The Cyprus weather forecast includes isolated rain in the mountains today, before temperatures begin a gradual rise through Monday.
Following the dissipation of local low cloud, conditions will become mainly clear. However, clouds developing around midday and during the afternoon are expected to bring isolated rain to mountainous areas.
Seasonal low pressure is affecting the region.
Winds will blow mainly from the south-west to north-west, initially light at 3 Beaufort and gradually becoming light to moderate at 3 to 4 Beaufort. In southern areas, winds may locally strengthen to 4 to 5 Beaufort during the afternoon.
The sea will be slight to locally moderate.
Temperatures will rise to 37°C inland, around 34°C along the northern coast, around 32°C on the remaining coasts and approximately 27°C in the higher mountains.
Clear conditions expected overnight
Tonight, the weather will remain mainly clear. However, local patches of mist or fog and low cloud are expected to form during the early morning hours.
Winds will gradually become light and variable at up to 3 Beaufort, while the sea will be calm to slight.
Temperatures will fall to around 21°C inland and along the coasts, and approximately 17°C in the higher mountains.
Temperatures to climb through Monday
Mainly clear conditions are expected on Saturday, Sunday and Monday, although locally increased cloud cover will develop at times.
Temperatures will rise gradually through Monday and are expected to remain above the seasonal average.
