Sunny conditions continue today
The Cyprus weather forecast indicates mainly clear skies today, with temperatures climbing to 37C inland as a seasonal low-pressure system continues to affect the region.
Some localised low cloud and patchy mist may be present early in the day before giving way to mostly sunny conditions.
Southwesterly to northwesterly winds will be light to moderate at 3 to 4 Beaufort, strengthening later in exposed coastal areas to 5 or 6 Beaufort. The sea will become slightly rough, and temporarily rough in windward areas.
Temperatures will reach 37C inland, around 32C along the south and east coasts, 34C on the north coast, and 30C on the west coast and in the higher mountains.
Mist expected overnight
Tonight, the weather forecast for Cyprus remains mostly clear, although periods of increased low cloud are expected along western coastal areas.
Later tonight and during the early morning hours, patchy mist or fog is likely to form, mainly across the eastern half of the island.
Overnight temperatures will fall to 21C inland, around 22C along the coast and 18C in the higher mountains.
Rain and thunderstorms possible from Sunday
Saturday will remain largely sunny, although increased cloud is expected to develop over the mountains during the afternoon.
From Sunday, the Cyprus weather forecast points to a gradual increase in cloud cover, with isolated showers or thunderstorms possible after midday, mainly over mountainous areas and parts of the interior.
The unsettled conditions are expected to continue into Monday.
Temperatures to ease slightly
Temperatures are expected to remain close to seasonal averages on Saturday before gradually declining through Monday.
