Local rain and possible snow today
The Cyprus weather forecast points to locally increased cloud cover today, bringing isolated showers mainly to mountainous areas and the southeast. Snowfall is possible on the highest peaks of Troodos. Conditions are expected to improve gradually, with the weather turning mostly clear later in the day.
Winds will blow mainly from the northeast, moderate to strong at 4–5 Beaufort. The sea will be slightly rough along the west coast and rough along the remaining coasts. Temperatures will rise to around 17°C inland, 19°C on the coasts and 6°C in the higher mountains.
Clear conditions overnight with frost risk
Tonight, the weather will be mostly clear. Winds will turn northwesterly to northeasterly, light to moderate at 3–4 Beaufort. The sea will initially remain slightly rough but will gradually become calm to slightly rough.
Temperatures will drop to around 8°C inland, 10°C along the coasts and 2°C in the higher mountains, where frost is expected to form locally.
Outlook for the coming days
On Thursday and Friday, periods of locally increased cloud cover are expected. On Saturday, cloud cover will increase again, with isolated showers likely later in the day.
Temperatures will rise on Thursday and remain largely unchanged through Saturday, staying slightly above the seasonal average.
