The Cyprus weather is influenced by a weak low-pressure system affecting the region, while the atmosphere will contain intermittent levels of thin dust until Sunday, according to the Meteorological Service.
During the day, the weather remains partly cloudy at intervals, with locally increased cloud cover expected. Isolated showers may develop during the afternoon, mainly in mountainous areas, where a local thunderstorm cannot be ruled out.
Temperatures remain mild
The weather in Cyprus will keep temperatures at seasonal levels. Maximum temperatures will reach around 25°C inland, around 23°C in southern and eastern coastal areas, around 21°C in western and northern coasts, and around 19°C in higher mountainous regions.
Winds will blow mainly south-westerly to north-westerly, light to moderate at 3 to 4 Beaufort. Seas will remain calm to slightly rough.
Night conditions and weekend outlook
Tonight, the Cyprus weather will be mainly cloudy with medium and high clouds. Temperatures will drop to around 12°C inland, 14°C on the coasts, and 9°C in higher mountains.
On Saturday, the weather will stay mostly cloudy with medium and high clouds, which may produce isolated showers.
On Sunday and Monday, locally increased cloud cover is expected, with isolated showers or thunderstorms mainly in mountainous areas during the afternoon. Temperatures will gradually rise over the weekend, returning close to seasonal averages, while no significant change is expected on Monday.
