The Republic of Cyprus has sent humanitarian aid worth around €200,000 to Lebanon through the CyprusAid programme, following a decision by the Council of Ministers.
According to a post by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on the X platform, the shipment was organised through close cooperation between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of Health.
The cargo, consisting of 31 containers of pharmaceutical products and medical supplies, departed from Limassol Port on 26 July 2026 and has already arrived at the port of Beirut.
Total aid reaches €840,000
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs said that the total humanitarian assistance provided by the Republic of Cyprus to Lebanon since the beginning of 2026 has now reached €840,000.
The latest CyprusAid aid shipment forms part of Cyprus’ ongoing support for Lebanon amid humanitarian needs in the country.
Scholarships planned for Lebanese citizens
The Ministry also announced that, through CyprusAid, scholarships will be offered in September to Lebanese citizens.
The scholarships will include short-term opportunities for participation in seminars and training programmes organised by CyprusAid, as well as longer-term scholarships for studies at higher education institutions in the Republic of Cyprus.
