Mental health in the workplace should be treated with the same seriousness as physical safety, according to findings from the 2025 OSH Pulse survey.
Workplace stress ranks among the highest in the European Union, with 41% of workers reporting that they experienced stress, depression or anxiety caused or worsened by their work.
Across the EU, 29% of workers reported experiencing one of these conditions due to their work in 2025, although significant differences were recorded between member states.
Cyprus among EU countries with highest rates
Workplace stress placed Cyprus third among EU member states, according to the survey data.
Greece recorded the highest rate, at 49%, followed by Finland at 45%. Cyprus ranked third with 41%.
The findings highlight significant differences in work-related mental health outcomes across the European Union and underline the scale of the issue facing workers in Cyprus.
