The Cyprus Police intensified patrols last night, carrying out organised operations in key urban areas to prevent serious crime, maintain public order, and boost public safety.
Arrests and vehicle checks
During the operations, police arrested two individuals. One person in Limassol was detained for identification purposes, while another was arrested after refusing a driving test under suspicion of drug influence.
Officers stopped 241 vehicles and checked 312 passengers throughout the night. They also carried out 25 inspections of premises to address potential criminal activity.
Traffic violations and enforcement
The patrols led to 81 traffic offence reports, including seven cases under further investigation. Notably, 35 drivers received fines for exceeding speed limits. Police also impounded three vehicles during the checks.
Ongoing crime prevention operations
The coordinated police operations continue daily, with enhanced presence, targeted inspections, and immediate interventions. The goal remains to protect citizens and maintain public order across Cyprus.
