Meeting focuses on treatment and prevention

The launch of a prison-based rehabilitation programme was central to a meeting on Tuesday between the Minister of Justice and Public Order, Kostas Fytiris, and the Cyprus National Addictions Authority.

The discussion also focused on actions related to prevention, treatment, and social reintegration, aiming to provide more substantial and effective interventions.

Special emphasis was placed on starting the prison rehabilitation programme, supporting individuals upon release, strengthening collaboration for early intervention with young users, and promoting prevention initiatives in schools.

Authorities hope these measures will improve rehabilitation outcomes and reduce substance abuse in the wider community.
