The enlistment of Cyprus military recruits for the 2026 intake began on Monday, with the Ministry of Defence reminding conscripts of the procedures and documents required before reporting to their assigned training centres.
Enlistment will take place from 6 to 10 July 2026 at the Recruit Training Centres (KEN) in Larnaca, Limassol and the Christos Samaras Camp in Athalassa (4th Infantry Battalion). Enlistment at the Paphos Recruit Training Centre will be held from 9 to 10 July.
Reporting instructions
Conscripts are required to report on the date and time stated in their enlistment notice, wearing their military uniform if they have already received it, and ensuring they are clean-shaven and have an appropriate haircut.
Required documents
Upon arrival, recruits must present:
- An identity card, digital ID through the “Digital Citizen” application, or another official identification document.
- Their enlistment notice, either in printed or electronic form.
- A medical certificate if they are undergoing medical treatment.
- Medical reports relating to health conditions that were not previously assessed by the Medical Boards or developed after their assessment.
- A bank account (IBAN) confirmation if it has not already been submitted through the e-Enlistment service.
- Proof of vaccination status and blood group, if these have not already been provided.
The Ministry said anyone who has not received an enlistment notice should immediately contact their local Military Recruitment Office.
After enlistment
All clothing, footwear and equipment previously issued must be taken to the unit where recruits are posted the following day. Any sizing issues with uniforms or boots will be addressed at the enlistment centres on the day of reporting.
Following completion of the enlistment process, recruits will receive overnight leave and a movement order, requiring them to report to their assigned unit the next day.
Those serving within their home district will travel to their units using their own transport, while recruits posted outside their district will be transported by buses operating under the Free Soldiers Transport Scheme, provided they register before leaving the enlistment centre.
The movement order will also include the contact details of each recruit’s assigned unit.
Swearing-in ceremony on 24 July
The Ministry of Defence confirmed that the swearing-in ceremony for the 2026 intake will take place on 24 July 2026.
Details of the time and venue will be communicated by each unit’s command so recruits and their families can make the necessary arrangements.
