Cyprus hotel bookings over the weekend were “quite encouraging,” with expectations of similar performance for the upcoming Green Monday long weekend, the Director of the Cyprus Hotel Association, Christos Angelides, told the Cyprus News Agency (CNA) on Monday.
Weekend performance and Green Monday outlook
Angelides said hotel reservations over the past three days indicate positive trends for the sector. He added that bookings for the three-day Green Monday period also appear strong.
“Several hotels will provide organised menus for Green Monday, which encourages guests to remain within hotel premises or gardens,” Angelides noted, highlighting hospitality offerings designed to attract customers.
Industry optimism despite challenges
When asked about general satisfaction with hotel bookings so far in 2026, Angelides said that no one is fully happy with reservation levels of 25–30%, but emphasised that this is part of the gradual recovery process.
He added that flights to Cyprus have increased from smaller countries including Armenia, Romania, Bulgaria, Latvia and Poland, alongside a steady flow of visitors from the United Kingdom and Israel. A slight increase in arrivals from Germany also contributes to the optimistic outlook for the hotel industry.
