Cypriot artist Della made history on January 15th by becoming the first musician from Cyprus to win a Music Moves Europe (MME) Award. Her victory marks a milestone for the island’s independent music scene, putting Cyprus firmly on the international music map. Immediately following the ceremony, Della performed at the ESNS festival in Groningen, showcasing her new single “waste,” which is now available on all streaming platforms.

Della wins monumental MME Award and releases new single ‘waste’
January 15th was a landmark day for Della, winning an award that will change Cypriot music as we know it. Not only is she the first Cypriot in history to be nominated for a Music Moves Europe Award but yesterday she became the first to win a jury award and receive the highest recognition for an emerging artist in Europe. This is no small feat – her win has put Cyprus on the international music map and has paved the way for the future of independent music on the island.
Della and her team attended the awards ceremony in Groningen on Thursday along with the other 14 nominees that were handpicked and nominated for the Awards. Right after securing her win, she performed at ESNS festival at Lutherse Kerk, a fully-packed breathtaking church in the heart of the city. Along with her band, they performed an exceptional set of music, including her newest single ‘waste’ that is now available on all streaming platforms.
