Bitcoin has surpassed the $100,000 mark for the first time in its history during Asian market trading, following the decision of US President-elect Donald Trump to appoint a cryptocurrency-friendly lawyer as the next head of the US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC).
Shortly before 4:40 AM (Cyprus time), the leading cryptocurrency by market capitalisation was trading at $100,102.
