Cooling off in the city: Where to swim in Nicosia

Date:

With temperatures regularly climbing above 40°C, many people are searching for quick ways to escape the heat without travelling to the coast. However, residents remaining in Nicosia face limited options this summer.

Only one municipal swimming pool is currently operating in the capital, while a small number of hotels and private complexes are also offering day-pass access to visitors.

The Municipal Swimming Pool of Nicosia remains the only public facility open during the summer season, while the Aglantzia Municipal Swimming Pool remains closed for upgrade works and the Lakatamia Municipal Swimming Pool is also not operating.
