President of the Republic Nikos Christodoulides has expressed condolences on behalf of the state to the families of those who lost their lives last week in the severe weather and the Kyrenia shipwreck.
Addressing members of the Cabinet at the start of its meeting at the Presidential Palace, Christodoulides referred to the two tragic events.
“I want to make a reference to last week, when we witnessed two tragic events,” the President said, referring to the death of a Cypriot in the Famagusta district and the deadly shipwreck in occupied Kyrenia.
‘The pain is the same’
Christodoulides said that the loss of life in both tragedies had caused the same human pain.
“In human tragedies, in human losses, the pain is the same,” he said.
He expressed, on behalf of the state and the Republic of Cyprus, his “warmest condolences” to the families and loved ones of those who lost their lives.
