President Nikos Christodoulides and Turkish Cypriot leader Tufan Erhürman will hold their next meeting on Thursday, 17 September, at 11 am.
The meeting was announced by Government Spokesperson Konstantinos Letymbiotis in a social media post.
It will take place as part of the leaders’ regular contacts and the continuation of their substantive discussions on the Cyprus problem.
Talks to continue next week
The new meeting follows Wednesday’s talks between Christodoulides and Erhürman, during which the two sides discussed methodology, substance and confidence-building measures. Christodoulides said there had been convergence on some issues, while differences and differing approaches remained on others.
The President has also said that, based on the current situation, the Greek Cypriot side is ready to resume negotiations from where they were suspended at Crans-Montana.
The two leaders have previously agreed to maintain regular contacts, with meetings taking place at least once a week.
The latest meeting is expected to continue efforts towards creating the conditions for the resumption of formal negotiations and further progress on the Cyprus problem.
