Christodoulides attends Western Balkans summit

President of the Republic Nikos Christodoulides is travelling today to Tivat, Montenegro, to participate in the EU–Western Balkans Summit, which focuses on strengthening cooperation between the European Union and the countries of the region, as well as their European perspective.

According to a written statement by the Director of the President’s Press Office, Victoras Papadopoulos, the summit will bring together leaders of EU Member States and institutions, along with leaders from Western Balkan partner countries.

Focus on EU–regional relations

The agenda includes a plenary session and a working lunch, during which participants are expected to discuss issues related to further strengthening EU–Western Balkans relations.

Discussions are expected to centre on cooperation frameworks, regional stability and the enlargement perspective of the Western Balkans.

High-level delegation from Cyprus

President Christodoulides is accompanied by Deputy Minister for European Affairs Marilena Raouna, the Director of the President’s Press Office and other government officials.

The visit is taking place on a same-day basis, with the President expected to return in the afternoon.
