Christodoulides and Erhürman to meet tomorrow, aiming to “achieve meaningful progress”

Date:

The next meeting between President Nikos Christodoulides and Turkish Cypriot leader Tufan Erhürman, under the auspices of the United Nations, will take place on Tuesday, 20 October, at 11:00 am.

Government Spokesman Konstantinos Letymbiotis said the aim remains to achieve meaningful progress towards resuming negotiations from where they were interrupted, within the agreed framework.

Focus on resuming negotiations

Letymbiotis said the Greek Cypriot side would approach the meeting with the same constructive attitude and consistency, bringing specific proposals to the table.

He expressed the conviction that meaningful dialogue could help create the conditions needed for the next steps towards restarting the Cyprus negotiations.

The meeting comes as efforts continue to make progress on the Cyprus issue under UN auspices.
