Christodoulides and Erhürman to meet on April 6, says UN

UN-hosted talks in buffer zone

The President of the Republic of Cyprus and Turkish Cypriot leader Tufan Erhürman will meet on Monday, 6 April, according to an announcement by the United Nations.

The meeting will take place at the residence of the Special Representative of the UN Secretary-General, Khassim Diagne, within the UN-controlled buffer zone.

No media access

According to the UN statement, media access will not be permitted during the meeting. Only official photographic and audiovisual material will be released by both sides after the talks.

Timing yet to be confirmed

Reports suggest the meeting will likely take place in the morning, although the exact time has not yet been officially confirmed.

The meeting comes amid ongoing efforts to maintain dialogue and stability on the island under UN auspices.
