Platform reactivated ahead of vote
The Choose4Cyprus is being reactivated ahead of the Cyprus Parliamentary Elections on 24 May 2026, continuing its role as a digital voting assistant for the public.
The initiative is run by the DigiPols research laboratory of the School of Communication and Media Studies at the Cyprus University of Technology (TEPAK), maintaining its established pre-election tradition of supporting voter information.
The platform is available at Choose4Cyprus platform.
How the Choose4Cyprus tool works
The Choose4Cyprus tool allows voters to compare their political views with party positions through an interactive questionnaire.
Users answer 24 questions covering key public policy issues, after which the system calculates alignment percentages between their responses and the positions of participating political parties.
Researchers have coded party positions using specialised academic methodology, with contributions from political parties where available.
Academic and independent framework
The Choose4Cyprus is presented as an academic, non-commercial project with no affiliation to political parties, movements, or private organisations.
According to the project team, all data collected is used exclusively for research purposes, with anonymised responses and limited demographic data gathered solely for academic analysis.
The initiative is described as non-profit, aiming to strengthen public understanding of political positions rather than influence voter behaviour.
Focus on informed voting
Organisers state that the Choose4Cyprus tool is not intended to direct users towards specific voting choices.
Instead, it provides comparative political information designed to help voters better understand party positions and clarify their own political preferences ahead of election day.
The platform highlights its role in reducing emotional or superficial decision-making by focusing on policy-based comparison.
