Child dies from gastroenteritis after visit to Paphos General Hospital

Date:

The Mayor of Paphos has publicly alleged that a 6-year-old child lost their life after visiting Paphos General Hospital.

In a post, Faidonas Faidonos stated, “A 6-year-old child from Paphos passed away this morning after suffering from gastroenteritis for the past five days. The child visited Paphos General Hospital yesterday, but because the hospital was incapable of handling the case and had no available beds, the child was transferred to Nicosia after more than two hours. Some people have no respect for the lives of small children.

The responsibility lies heavily on those who allow Paphos General Hospital to remain in this tragic state of inadequacy,” the post concluded.

It is noted that neither the police nor the State Health Services Organisation (OKYPY) have issued any statements on the matter so far.
