Authorities continue investigating the death of a 42-year-old woman at Larnaca General Hospital, following an inconclusive autopsy.
Autopsy results
Pathologists A. Papetta and O. Orthodoxou performed the post-mortem examination. They could not determine the cause of death and collected samples for further testing.
Hospital inquiry
The Cyprus Health Services Organisation (OKYPY) confirmed that an internal investigation into the incident is ongoing and expected to conclude shortly. OKYPY spokesperson Charalambos Charilaou stated the inquiry aims to fully document the circumstances surrounding the woman’s death.
Circumstances
According to the initial report, the woman appeared to fall while trying to get out of her hospital bed, hitting her head in the process.
