Businessman accused over alleged €12m fraud in Larnaca

Police have arrested a 62-year-old man as part of a fraud investigation into 11 cases involving alleged conspiracy to commit a felony, obtaining money by false pretences, forgery, circulating forged documents and other related offences.

The arrest was carried out on Tuesday under a court warrant.

Alleged offences date back to 2022

According to Police, the cases under investigation relate to offences allegedly committed in Larnaca district between 2022 and 2024.

The total amount of money allegedly obtained through the suspected offences is estimated at €12 million.

Suspect due in court

The 62-year-old is expected to appear before the Larnaca District Court on Wednesday, where Police will seek a remand order.

The Criminal Investigation Department (CID) of Larnaca is continuing its investigation into the fraud.
