The discussions in the Parliamentary Finance Committee for the approval of the 2025 budget will continue on Monday with the budgets of the Ministry of Justice and Public Order, the Judicial Service, and the Legal Service.
According to the Committee’s agenda, in the morning, Minister of Justice and Public Order Marios Hartsiotis will present his Ministry’s budget and respond to questions from MPs.
This will be followed by the review of the Judicial Service budget, specifically for the Supreme Constitutional Court and the Supreme Court.
After midday, Attorney General George Savvides will present the budget of the Legal Service.
Following this, the Commissioner for Transparency will present the budget of the Independent Authority Against Corruption, and the Commissioner for Legislation will present the budget of her Office.
After reviewing these budgets, MPs will decide on the release of funds related to the Deputy Ministry of Culture and the Independent Authority Against Corruption. They will also debate and make a final decision on amending the Public Service Law concerning an exemption from the provisions related to interdepartmental promotion for the positions of Senior Nursing Officer.
