Ayia Napa sea caves injury after fall on rocks

Date:

An Ayia Napa sea caves injury was reported on Monday morning after a person fell onto rocks in the area. The Joint Rescue Coordination Centre (JRCC) confirmed that the injured individual was rescued and transferred to hospital for treatment.

According to the JRCC, “On 4 August 2025 at 11:01, the National Search and Rescue Plan ‘NEARCHOS’ was activated after receiving information about an injured person following a fall on rocks in the Ayia Napa sea caves area.”

The JRCC immediately mobilised specialised personnel from the Famagusta Fire Station, the Special Disaster Response Unit (EMAK), and an ambulance from the State Health Services Organisation (OKYPY).

The injured person was stabilised at the scene and transported by ambulance to Famagusta General Hospital for medical care.

In light of the incident, the JRCC once again reminded the public that access and diving at the “sea caves” site in Cape Greco is strictly prohibited. Following inspection by the Geological Survey Department, the terrain has been deemed dangerous due to significant erosion.
