Ayia Napa: Hotel roof fire caused by maintenance work

A fire broke out yesterday afternoon on the rooftop of a hotel in Ayia Napa, authorities reported.

Firefighters responded promptly, using two fire trucks and a hydraulic telescopic platform to bring the fire under control shortly after it started.

The blaze resulted from maintenance work and affected an artificial ceiling on part of the hotel. Firefighters contained the fire quickly, preventing damage to other areas of the building.
