Ayia Napa beach prices for sunbeds and umbrellas have increased, according to statements to SigmaLive by the Mayor and President of the Beaches Committee, Christos Zannetos.
New charges for sunbeds and umbrellas
Under the revised pricing, the rental cost of a sunbed is set at €3.50, while an umbrella will cost €3.00.
Zannetos explained that the fees had remained unchanged for more than two decades. The adjustment was deemed necessary following the increase in VAT, which placed additional financial pressure on local authorities.
He clarified that these rates represent the maximum allowable charges that each municipality may impose, while retaining the option to set lower prices if they choose.
Services included in rental
Despite the rise in Ayia Napa beach prices, bathers who rent equipment will continue to enjoy free access to showers, toilets and changing rooms. These facilities operate on most beaches within the Ayia Napa municipality.
Infrastructure upgrades across beaches
Regarding infrastructure, Zannetos highlighted that the municipality has proceeded with the creation and upgrading of facilities on nearly all its beaches. Older sunbeds and umbrellas have also been replaced with new equipment, aiming to enhance the overall quality of service provided to visitors.
The increase in Ayia Napa beach prices comes as the resort continues to invest in improving beach infrastructure and visitor experience.
