Date:

Post-mortem inconclusive

The cause of death of the man whose body was found on a beach in Avdimou remains undetermined, according to forensic findings.

Speaking on the programme Tomes sta Gegonota, Lukas Spatharis said the post-mortem examination did not establish a clear cause of death. He also noted that the body was discovered by chance by a member of the public.

Authorities believe the body may belong to Russian businessman Vladislav Baumgartner, who has been reported missing since 7 January. However, official confirmation has not yet been made.

As part of the ongoing investigation into the Avdimou body case, DNA samples and additional forensic material have been taken from the body in an effort to clarify both the identity of the deceased and the circumstances surrounding the death.
