At 42% of normal rainfall after weekend storms

The Meteorological Service reports that total rainfall from 1 October to 30 November 2025 now stands at 36.1 mm – only 42% of the seasonal average.

November alone recorded 22.1 mm, equivalent to 41% of the monthly norm.

The weekend storms of 29–30 November delivered an island-wide average of 8.2 mm, providing a late boost but still far short of normal levels.

Where the rain fell

Highest totals over the weekend:

  • Stavros tis Psokas: 33 mm
  • Polis Chrysochous: 26.9 mm
  • Prodromos: 20.8 mm
  • Pano Panagia: 16.1 mm
  • Platania: 10.8 mm
  • Limassol (New Port): 10.2 mm

Almost dry in the east

  • Frenaros: 0.7 mm
  • Athienou & Lythrodontas: 1.3 mm
  • Larnaca Airport & Xylotymbou: 2 mm

The west and mountains received most of the rain, while Nicosia, Larnaca and Famagusta remain critically dry.
