According to the Police Communication Branch, the incident occurred at approximately 1:15am on Monday, 11 August, when a man entered a kiosk in Ayia Napa and stole various products.

The 37-year-old female employee attempted to follow the man as he left the premises, in an effort to stop him. However, the suspect had already entered a car and, according to preliminary reports, brandished a gun to deter her.
