New details have emerged in the case of a nurse accused of indecent assault at Ammochostos General Hospital, revealing that the suspect had previously been arrested in connection with a 2018 child abduction case.
According to police sources, the 49-year-old male nurse was allegedly involved in the attempted interference of judicial proceedings related to the abduction of two children from a school in Larnaca. He was reportedly arrested at the time for attempting to intervene in the legal process.
The current case was reported to police on Saturday, with the nurse arrested on Sunday afternoon.
The alleged victim, a 44-year-old man, filed the complaint directly with CID Famagusta. The suspect was brought before court, which ordered his detention for six days pending investigation.
Police inquiries are ongoing.
