Alert in Ukraine: Russian bombers take off

Date:

Air raid alerts for Russian airstrikes were declared this morning across nearly the entire territory of Ukraine, according to the Ukrainian Air Force, which reported the take-off of various types of bombers from airfields in Russia.

“Attention! Missile strike threat across Ukraine,” stated the Ukrainian Air Force via Telegram, referring to the take-off of MiG-31K jets as well as strategic Tupolev Tu-95 bombers.

Explosions were heard in the Ukrainian capital, Kyiv, where anti-aircraft defence systems were activated, and power outages occurred in parts of the city.

Earlier today, authorities announced that at least six people were killed and around twenty others injured in Russian airstrikes on the cities of Mykolaiv and Zaporizhzhia in southern Ukraine.
