Fire in a Limassol house – Five people hospitalised

Date:

The Limassol Fire Station responded to a fire that broke out in an upper-floor residence in Limassol today, shortly before 7:00 a.m., with three staffed fire engines.

According to Fire Service Spokesperson Andreas Kettis, “the fire started in one room and spread to all areas of the residence, causing extensive damage to both the property and its contents.”

“Our teams intervened to extinguish the fire using water hose systems and entered the residence wearing breathing apparatus. One person was rescued externally using a ladder from the upper floor, while four others exited through the main entrance. Both the rescued individual and the other four were handed over to ambulances and were transported as a precaution to the Accident and Emergency Department of Limassol General Hospital for medical evaluation.”

The causes of the fire will be investigated later today in collaboration with all relevant State Services.
