An Airbus A320 operating a flight from Dublin to Rome diverted and landed at Évreux airbase in France following a bomb threat, the latest in a series of threats targeting flights in Europe.

The office of French Prime Minister Sébastien Lecornu announced on Thursday that the situation was being monitored.

The aircraft, carrying 151 passengers and six crew members, landed safely at the airbase. All those on board were evacuated while bomb disposal experts began inspecting the plane.

According to flight-tracking website Flightradar24, the aircraft belonged to Aer Lingus. It was forced to divert towards the Paris area and circled above Évreux after declaring an emergency.

Series of bomb threats disrupts European travel

At least seven flights and one cruise ship in Europe received bomb threats on Tuesday, causing disruption at airports, although no explosives were ultimately found.
