The British Bases Police in Cyprus has welcomed seven new officers who completed a two-year probationary period and training programme.
According to a statement from the British Bases, the graduation ceremony took place on Monday at the Officers’ Mess in Episkopi, attended by senior British Bases officials, representatives of the Cyprus Police and the United Nations, as well as the graduates’ families.
Officers complete two-year training programme
Police Inspector Maria Atalioti, who supervised the training programme, spoke about the challenges the officers faced during their two years of probation.
She said the recruits had completed a comprehensive and demanding programme designed to develop the skills, knowledge, integrity and professionalism required of a modern police officer.
Throughout the training period, they demonstrated dedication, resilience and a strong commitment to serving their communities and maintaining high policing standards, she added.
Two officers receive training awards
Constable Galateia Alexandrou, 28, from Limassol, received the Baton of Honour for her outstanding performance across all areas of her training and operational development.
She described the past two years as a journey of learning, challenges and personal growth, expressing gratitude for the support and guidance she received throughout her training.
Constable Alexandros Nicolaou, 25, also from Limassol, received the Training Department Prize in recognition of his performance.
He said completing the programme was an important milestone and that the training had provided valuable knowledge and personal development, preparing him for the responsibilities of police work.
The British Bases Police also welcomed 16 new recruits on Monday. They will begin their careers as probationary constables.
