A 37-year-old European tourist is due to appear in court after members of the public restrained him following an alleged theft and an attack on an antique shop owner in central Larnaca.
A video posted on social media shows several people holding the man on the ground after the incident.
Other footage from inside the shop shows broken items scattered across the premises.
Police investigate antique shop incident
According to police, officers are investigating the theft of an item from an antique shop and an alleged assault on the shop owner.
Members of the public restrained the suspect before police became involved.
The 37-year-old, who is visiting Cyprus as a tourist, is expected to appear in court on Tuesday for a remand hearing.
